This week I’m celebrating 50 years of success in the music business. That type of longevity is truly a blessing for which I’m eternally grateful. I’ve learned so much over the years, which is why a lot of young artists and musicians always ask me the same question on Twitter – what’s the best piece of advice you have for me?
The 4 best pieces of advice I have are:
- If you’re not performing, then you should be rehearsing! You cannot practice your craft too much.
- When you have your first financial success, buy a MODEST home; buying a home you can’t afford proves nothing to no one.
- Don’t do drugs! Period. Think of some of your favorite old school and current artists who do/did drugs and ask yourself if that’s how you want to end up.
- Don’t leave your money in your dressing room…ever!
God bless,
Lenny

December 24, 2019 at 2:24 amThank you Lenny for the advice. I am a female singer who is a fan of 70’s & 80’s music even though it was before my time. I’ve studied your performance along with others to learn from the best. Your performance is amazing and I want my supporters to experience what I have watching you on that stage for over 7 minutes. Thank you for your talent and inspiration.
